Our focus lies on community efforts, including selling jams and jellies at the farmers market, the KDMHA's Panthers Eric Gutknecht Memorial Novice Hockey Tournament during the spring school break, and donations. We firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child, and helping students realize their dream of post secondary education, helps in creating the most well equipped society one can.

Maintaining healthy, happy environments is an important, and often neglected part of aid work. We work with local community organizers closely.

ALL ABOUT ERIC

Eric went to school, played soccer and hockey here in Kemptville.

     The Eric Gutknecht Memorial Bursary (now a registered charity for income tax purposes) was created soon after Eric's passing on June 25, 2010.  Several individuals touched by this tragedy stepped forward to be part of the executive which now consists of 9 active members (see all about us).  Many others continue to help out in various other ways.

     Many events have already taken while more are in their planning stages, to raise money  to support this bursary  This bursary is awarded annually to a grade 12 student, at North Grenville District High School (at which Eric was a student) and at St.Michael Catholic High School in Kemptville, who is planning post secondary education and has worked through adversity to realize success throughout their school years.  The awards' committee at both schools in conjunction with the executive of the bursary, have set the criteria that is utilized in deciding the annual winners. 

     The winners receive a cash award and a keeper plaque, while the schools proudly display their own plaque with the annual winners' names engraved  thereon.

     Many thanks to all those who have held and continue to hold Eric dear in their hearts and those who have contributed to this bursary to help make it the success that is realized today!
